“Currently, with a huge growth of people returning to vintage and wanting to personalize their style, and steer away from commercial giants like Zara and Topshop, fashionistas and other trendsetters are turning to handmade pieces. The handmade clothing is exclusive and will not be spotted on million of other fashionistas: it is unique and tailored to your shape and size. The brand Katia Portes is personalized: it is exclusive and handmade. The clothes are for people seeking individuality and exclusivity. We began working with a few pieces, and had several well-known Brazilian artists wear my brand.
The official launch of my brand is scheduled in September. The plan is to open a store in Sao Paulo and export the dresses from Brazil.
The brand is unique because before the dress is mounted together, several people embroider manually the details on various parts of the dress; nothing is done industrially. My designs are inspired by nature that surrounds me. Nature’s patterns and handmade embroidery are characteristics that gives each piece special value. There is a mix of sensuality and Brazilian handcraft.
Even though the short time on social networks, the response has been positive since many customers are enjoying the brand proposition, they have in mind a differentiated product, modern pieces and manuals.
